windmill reciprocating water pumping system

SYNOPSIS

In agricultural field, water pumping is a main event. The conventional pumps use electricity (or) diesel engine which may cost more in operations and maintenance and also face the unavailability of the fuel (or) electricity sometimes. The conventional energy source are depleting day by day. Moreover the pollution hazard arising out of fossil fuel burning has become quite significant in recent years. The depletion and demand makes the fuel cost even higher.   In this project wind energy is used for pumping the water from lower ground. Wind energy is the renewable and widely distributed energy. Wind is the rough horizontal movement of air caused by uneven heating of earth. So that wind energy is used to convert the required form of energy and it is utilized for useful work. According to the wind speed the energy conversion will vary.

In our project wind energy is used to rotate the wind blades. This blade coupled to the shaft. At the end of shaft the flywheel is placed. The eccentric arrangement is provided in the flywheel. When the blade rotates automatically fly wheel also rotates. Due to the eccentric arrangement the rotation motion of the flywheel is converted into linear motion. This reciprocating motion is given to the handle of the pumping system. The up down motion of the handle is given to the piston, where the water is sucked using pressure variation from lower ground. Finally the water is supplied to the outlet. Wind blade provides the continuous motion which helps to supply the water continuously.
